Mrs. Debra Rhodes
From a family of seven, Debra and her siblings were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY by their grandmother. In 1998, she moved to the Dutchess County as a newlywed with her husband Melvin, now of 13 years. Her desire to help others originally led her into the field of counseling. While in this field, her heart was broken when she discovered the unfair treatment of the elderly. This prompted the next chapter in her life as she and her husband began to buy properties to provide affordable housing. It was not long after this that she discovered her passion. Perhaps this was embedded by her grandmother who was known as "momma" by all the kids in the community. "Auntie" is now the name that Debra is so affectionately known by her children.
As a favor for a friend she began watching her first child 6 years ago. Today she has two houses that are ran as daycares, a staff of 8 and approximately 25 children and growing.
A devote Christian, she gives all honor to God and believes that none of this could have been possible without his permission.
